British Invasion

In 1964, English Culture came to America. Before this time, the American Rock and Roll sound was transported to England. In the early 60's, America became somewhat self-absorbed. J.F. Kennedy was president and the nation took on an idealism that it had not had for quite some time. Then in 1963, the president was assassinated, and so, it seemed, was the the American Dream. It was during those first few years of the decade though, that the rock and roll sound had really taken hold in Great Britain. Bands such as the Rolling Stones, The Animals, and most certainly The Beatles, began to make a name for themselves. As America began to recover from the "shock" of the death of it's president, the timing was perfect for an outside influence to enter the scene and be embraced. And so, The British Invasion hit Americas shores and Rock and Roll became an "art form".
